Description: The article presents different scientists’ viewpoints on modern pre-service training requirements for engineering specialists in Ukraine and Germany were selected due to their focus on educational integration. Integration is viewed asa dual process of universalization and harmonization of different systems’ elements which could potentially have a general integral quality becoming apparent during new system formation. After doing an analysis of scientific,psychological and educational literature we can draw a conclusion that the main requirements include participating in academic students’ mobility. The main goal of mobility for students is getting a versatile «European» education in the chosen training direction, giving them an access to the recognized educational centers, cultivating a feeling of being aEuropean. It should be noted also that mobility contributes to the language learning. It is impossible to overestimate the importance of foreign languages as means of European integration and functioning of the united market. This requirement is closely related to the next one – formation of foreign language communicative competence. We consider the most important requirement is the availability of modern holistic outlook that can be formed in the competency approach application.
